Braces Treatment

What Are Braces?

Braces are devices that orthodontists use to straighten teeth and correct bite problems. They work by applying gentle pressure over time to move your teeth into the desired position. Braces can improve your smile’s appearance, function, and overall dental health.

Conventional Braces @ Manual Braces

These are the time-tested and most widely used braces. They consist of metal brackets bonded to each tooth's surface. A thin metal wire is threaded through these brackets and held in place by small elastic ties. These elastics, which can be colorful and customizable, require regular adjustments by your orthodontist, typically every four to six weeks. While conventional braces may not be the most aesthetically pleasing option, they are a highly effective and affordable method for straightening teeth and correcting bite problems.

Self-Ligating Braces @ Auto Braces

Offering a technological advancement over conventional braces, self-ligating braces also utilize brackets and wires. However, instead of relying on elastic ties, they employ a built-in locking mechanism within the brackets themselves. This mechanism holds the wire in place, potentially reducing friction during tooth movement. This can lead to several benefits, including potentially faster treatment times, less discomfort during adjustments, easier cleaning due to the absence of elastics, and potentially fewer orthodontic appointments (every eight to twelve weeks) compared to conventional braces.

Ceramic Braces

Designed for patients seeking a more discreet approach to orthodontic treatment, ceramic braces function identically to conventional braces. The key difference lies in the material of the brackets. Instead of metal, ceramic braces utilize tooth-colored ceramic brackets, making them less noticeable on the teeth. It's important to note that while offering improved aesthetics, ceramic brackets may be slightly more fragile and typically come at a slightly higher cost compared to conventional braces.
