Extraction Treatment

Tooth extraction is the process of removing a tooth from its socket in the jawbone. This procedure is typically performed by a dentist or oral surgeon when a tooth is severely damaged, decayed, infected, or causing other dental issues. Tooth extraction may also be necessary for orthodontic reasons, such as removing overcrowded teeth to create space for proper alignment.

Normal Extraction

Normal extractions involve removing teeth that are fully visible and relatively loose in the jawbone. This can be done by a dentist in the office using local anesthesia and specialized instruments.

Surgical Extraction

Needed for teeth that are impacted (stuck beneath the gum tissue or bone), broken below the gum line, wisdom teeth, or have complex root structures. These procedures require an oral surgeon, often involve incisions in the gum and potentially bone removal, and may necessitate stitches to close the surgical site.

EXTRACTION TREATMENT PROCEDURE

Before the extraction, the dentist will numb the area around the tooth with a local anesthetic to ensure a painless procedure. In some cases, sedation may also be used to help patients relax during the extraction. Once the tooth is removed, the dentist will provide aftercare instructions to promote healing and prevent complications such as infection or excessive bleeding.
